01 / Services

A remote OSP desk you can engage by the deliverable.

Field Walk + 3D Capture

On-site route and constructability review with a photoreal 3D / 360° capture and geotagged field notes, so conflicts surface on paper, not after the crew mobilizes.

  • Route & constructability review
  • Geotagged photos & KMZ field notes
  • Photoreal 3D / 360° walkthrough
05 / Utility Relocation & Coordination New · Public improvement

When a road, bridge, or transit project forces fiber to move.

DOT and municipal improvement projects put carriers on a relocation clock. We handle the desk side of the move, conflict analysis, relocation design, permitting, and agency coordination, so your facilities clear the work and your reimbursement is documented.

Differentiator: 23 CFR 645 reimbursement & betterment segregation

Out of scope: physical relocation stays with your crews; the PE seal, where required, stays with your engineer.

Deliverables
  • Conflict matrix (fiber vs. improvement)

03 / How it works

A desk you plug into, no onboarding.

01
Send the package

Email the design files, prints, or scope. We confirm jurisdiction, plant type, and turnaround same day.

02
We QC & build

We audit against agency and NESC standards, redline issues, and assemble the submission-ready package.

03
You review

You get redlines and a punch list, or a clean package, with a clear summary of what changed and why.

04
Submit & track

Submit with confidence. Add tracking and we own the follow-ups until it's approved.

04 / Who it's for

Capacity for the firms carrying the BEAD build-out.

A rejected permit costs weeks. When volume spikes, the answer isn't a hire you'll carry through the next slow quarter, it's a desk you turn on when the queue is full and off when it isn't.

05 / Why Datum

The reference point your build is measured from.

01
Fewer rejections

We catch the errors that bounce permits before they reach the agency, turning weeks of rework into a clean first submission.

02
Flexible & remote

Scale through a surge without adding headcount. Fixed price per deliverable, no overhead, no long onboarding.

03
Built to standard

Work assembled to NESC and each jurisdiction's submittal rules, cleaner packages, less rework on your team.

04
Conflicts caught early

Field walks and constructability review flag conflicts on paper, before they cost you crews, change orders, and schedule.

06 / About

Run by an OSP designer who's been on both sides of the submittal.

Datum OSP was founded by Lawrence Lucas to give fiber builders the QC and permitting horsepower they need, without the cost of another full-time seat. Built on years of outside-plant design, permitting, and field experience, the pattern was clear: most delays trace to errors a disciplined second review would have caught.

That's the idea behind Datum, be the fixed reference point your build is measured from, the desk that makes sure what leaves your office is right the first time.
